PMPML Chairman Mahesh Awhad Injured In Car Accident Near Malavli While Travelling To Pune
PMPML Chairman and Managing Director Mahesh Awhad narrowly escaped a major accident near Malavli while travelling from Mumbai to Pune. His driver and bodyguard sustained serious injuries.
Pune: Mahesh Awhad, Chairman and Managing Director of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML), narrowly escaped a major road accident near Malavli while travelling from Mumbai to Pune.
According to officials, the accident took place after the driver of a mobile mini van allegedly took a sudden U-turn on the road, leading to a collision with Awhad’s vehicle.
While Mahesh Awhad sustained minor injuries in the accident, his driver and bodyguard were seriously injured. All injured persons were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Speaking about the incident, Awhad said that the occupants survived due to sheer luck. He added that the car suffered major damage in the crash.
The accident reportedly caused temporary traffic disruption in the area before normal movement was restored.
According to preliminary information, the mini van driver allegedly violated traffic rules by making a sudden turn, resulting in the collision. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are further examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Despite the severity of the crash, a major tragedy was avoided, officials said.
