Pimpri, May 7, 2026: In response to growing concerns over inadequate public transport facilities for workers in MIDC Chakan Industrial Area Phase-2, the Federation of Chakan Industries held a meeting with senior officials of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) to discuss possible solutions and improve connectivity for industrial employees.

The meeting was organised on Wednesday, May 6, at the conference hall of OEN India Ltd. located in MIDC Phase-2, Chakan. Around 50 industry representatives participated in the discussion along with senior PMPML officials.

Officials present at the meeting included Rajesh Jadhav, Divisional Manager, Ashok Sable, Depot Manager of Bhosari, Ramdas Virank, Head of Headquarters-2, Machhindra Titkare, ADM Nigdi, Navnath Badhe from the Planning Department at Swargate, and Dilip Batwal, CEO of the Federation of Chakan Industries.

The discussions focused on evaluating the current shortcomings in bus connectivity within Phase-2, identifying new routes, increasing bus frequency during shift timings, and improving last-mile connectivity for industrial workers.

The Federation highlighted the urgent need for reliable public transport in the region, stating that transportation challenges are affecting both worker mobility and industrial productivity.

Speaking at the meeting, Dilip Batwal said, “The lack of adequate public transport is directly impacting thousands of workers and industries in Chakan. We appreciate PMPML’s participation and expect practical and immediate steps to address these issues.”

The Federation of Chakan Industries stated that it will continue coordinating with PMPML and share further updates once an action plan is finalised.
