Mumbai Road Rage: Viral Video Shows Man Assaulting Ola Driver After Audi Brush in Ghatkopar

In a shocking road rage incident in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar, a video has gone viral showing Rishabh Bibhash Chakravorthy, a resident of the area, violently assaulting an Ola driver, Kaimuddin Moinuddhin Quereshi. The altercation occurred after Chakravorthy’s Audi  brushed against Quereshi’s cab in the Asalpha area.

The video captures the moment Chakravorthy lifted Quereshi and slammed him to the ground, causing severe head injuries. Quereshi was initially treated at Rajawadi Hospital before being transferred to JJ Hospital, where he was discharged from the ICU on Thursday.

The Parksite Police have registered an FIR against Chakravorthy and his wife, Antara Ghosh, for their involvement in the assault. Despite the serious nature of the incident, the couple has only received notices under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, which recently replaced the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

The incident unfolded on August 19, 2024, when Quereshi followed the Audi to The Address housing complex after the initial collision. The situation escalated further when Quereshi’s cab slightly bumped into the Audi, prompting Chakravorthy’s violent reaction.

Police have summoned Chakravorthy for interrogation, with Ghosh also expected to be questioned. Their statements will be added to the chargesheet as the investigation progresses.
