For pre-monsoon rain, gale-force gusts, and lightning across Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Marathwada, and Vidarbha starting today, the meteorological department has issued a yellow alert.

Rain has been reported in Mumbai, with heavy rains in the Dadar area and light showers in Kandivali, Andheri, and Bandra areas. The meteorological department claims this sudden rain is pre-monsoon rain.

Mumbaikars are likely to get relief from increasing heat, as conditions are favourable for pre-monsoon rains. Cloudy weather is causing the maximum temperature to decrease rapidly.

The state’s relative humidity has gone up and the westward wind currents are becoming more intense. As a result, conditions that are conducive for the monsoon are developing. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for pre-monsoon rain with gale-force winds, and lightning across Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Marathwada, and Vidarbha starting from today. It is expected that the sweltering heat, cloud cover, and sun will persist for the remainder of the state.

Except for Vidarbha, most places have maximum temperatures below 40 °C. A high of 43°C was reported in Amravati until the early hours of June 4. There is a chance that rain may cause the temperature in Vidarbha to dip. Pune has also seen the advent of rain which made the residents furious on Tuesday.
