Nagaland Student Attacked and Robbed on Baner Hill in Pune
A college student from Nagaland was violently assaulted and robbed in Pune. The incident occurred when the student and a friend visited Baner Hill. The victim, 19-year-old Pijendai Komai, who is studying in Pune and currently residing in Sangvi, sustained injuries in the attack. A report has been filed at the Chaturshringi Police Station.
On Saturday, September 28, around 7:30 p.m., Komai and his friend were approached by four individuals. The assailants violently attacked them, causing severe injuries to Komai’s leg, and robbed them of belongings worth approximately Rs 20,000. This is not an isolated incident, as similar attacks have been reported in the area, including near Pashan Sus Road. The case is being investigated by Police Sub-Inspector Praveen Chougule of Chaturshringi Police Station.
Residents in the area are increasingly concerned about the rising crime rate and are urging authorities to increase police patrols to ensure public safety.
In a separate incident on Sunday night, a 20-year-old security guard, Akash Babasaheb Aghale, was assaulted and robbed near the Kharadi Toll Naka on Nagar Road. While on his way to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aghale was confronted by four individuals on motorcycles around midnight.
The attackers initially demanded tobacco from Akash, and when he told them he did not have any, they struck him on the head with a hammer, stealing his bag before fleeing the scene. Aghale reported the incident at the Chandan Nagar Police Station, where Assistant Police Inspector Dattatray Ligade is leading the investigation. Police are reviewing CCTV footage and following leads to identify and apprehend the suspects.
