Woman Arrested for Allegedly Forcing Another into Prostitution in Hinjawadi
A 30-year-old woman was arrested in Hinjawadi for allegedly coercing another woman into prostitution for financial gain. The Pimpri Chinchwad Police registered the case following a raid by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) on September 27 at Laxmi Chowk, Hinjawadi.
The incident was reported by Police Constable Sunil Shirsath to the Hinjawadi Police Station. The accused has been charged under Section 143(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for human trafficking, along with relevant sections of The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
According to police reports, the accused lured the victim with promises of money and forced her into prostitution, benefiting financially from the illegal act. Acting on a tip-off, the AHTU conducted the raid and arrested the suspect. Assistant Police Inspector Jadhav from Hinjawadi Police Station is leading the ongoing investigation.
