Nanasaheb Peshwe Lake’s Phulrani toy train resumes its operations in Pune

The famous Phulrani toy train at the Nanasaheb Lake in Katraj resumed its service after a five year break on January 26 this year. There is definitely an emotional connection for Pune residents with Phulrani!

Ever since resuming services since 26th January, 2023, the train has been filled with children who enjoy going round the park. The tracks of the toy train have been upgraded and new coaches have been added. Since January 27 the Phulrani has been regularly ferrying children and others between 10 AM to 2 PM and 4 PM to 8 PM. Till January 31, in the five days from January 26 till 31, it gave a whopping income of Rs 31,000 to the Pune Municipal Corporation. 

The efforts taken by MNS Katraj Corporator Vasant More, with the able support of Pune Municipal Corporation have borne fruit.  The Nanasaheb Peshwe Lake has also undergone some major changes which has enhanced its beauty.

Vasant More said that continuous efforts have helped in resuming the services of the toy train.

Sharing more details, Ashok Ghorpade, head, garden department, PMC said, “We have done a complete maintenance overhaul of the park. The engine of the toy train has been serviced. The renovated toy train was inaugurated on 26th January, in the presence of many dignitaries.”
