This big project aims to build a fast train line between Pune and Nashik, two important cities that don’t have a railway connection yet. The government has decided to allocate a significant amount of money, ₹2500 Crore, for this project in the 2024 Railway Budget.

Additionally, they’ve set aside more money, ₹18.85 Crore, to build a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Nashik, on top of the ₹45 Crore previously allocated. This shows that the government is serious about improving transportation in the area.

The Pune-Nashik High-Speed Railway will cover a distance of 235 km and promises to make traveling between the two cities much faster and easier. The train is expected to run at a top speed of 200 km per hour, cutting down the travel time from the current 6 hours by road to just 1 hour and 45 minutes. The project involves building 18 tunnels, 19 flyovers, and 20 stations to ensure smooth travel.

This railway project is part of the government’s plan to strengthen connections between Pune and Nashik, benefiting industries, education, culture, and trade. It will also boost agricultural and freight transport, leading to overall economic growth in the region.

With the funds allocated and progress being made in acquiring land and planning, the Pune-Nashik Railway Line is set to become an essential link for the area, improving connectivity and bringing prosperity to Pune, Nashik, and nearby areas.
