Pimpri-Chinchwad: The Bharatiya Janata Party has completed the distribution of application forms for aspirants seeking tickets for the upcoming Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections. On the final day, more than 650 hopefuls collected the forms. Notably, city chief Shatrughan Kate also collected an application for himself, following party protocol and reinforcing the BJP’s core belief of placing the nation first, the party next, and oneself last.

After the ward boundaries and reservations were finalized, BJP leader and Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil recently chaired a review meeting in the city with local representatives and core committee members. As per the party’s directive, all aspirants were instructed to take the application form, fill it accurately, and submit it to the party office within the allotted time. These forms will be scrutinized and then forwarded to the state unit. The city chief had been asked to oversee this process.

Meanwhile, the interest among aspirants has been overwhelming. Elections will be held for 128 seats, but the Morwadi–Pimpri public relations office has already issued over 650 forms. Some aspirants have still not taken forms in accordance with party protocol. Organizational General Secretary Moreshwar Shedge urged them to do so within the deadline.

City chief Shatrughan Kate is preparing to contest from his stronghold, Ward No. 28, which includes Five Gardens, Shivar Garden, Planet Millennium, Kapse Lawn, Ramnagar, Pimple Saudagar, Kunal Icon, Rose Icon and Govind Garden. Since taking charge as city president, he has conducted more than 200 activities and programmes in just six months. His team is working around four key principles: strong organisation, public service, party loyalty and development of the last person in the system. While forming the executive committee, he personally interviewed more than 300 workers who wished to contribute at the city level, and built his team accordingly. His efforts were acknowledged at the state level.

“The BJP is a disciplined party. Whether it is an election or organisational work, party protocol always comes first. I intend to contest from Ward 28, which is why I collected the application as per party procedure. Most aspirants have already taken the forms, and the remaining should do so and submit them within the deadline. Late applications will not be considered. After verification, the forms will be sent to the state office, and final candidates will be selected based on internal surveys, winnability and active contribution to party work. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and with guidance from State President Ravindra Chavan and senior party leaders, I am confident that the lotus will bloom again in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.” Shatrughan Kate, City President, Pimpri-Chinchwad BJP, Pune
