A portion of her letter stated, ” A well-established actor like you, with the support and blessings of your father and your brother, an ace director, needs to read and understand this. Cinema as we all know is a fight for survival for people like me: a self-made woman with no links in the industry and someone who had to struggle my way to the position I hold today. I’d owe this to my work ethic that is no secret to all who know me but more importantly, to the goodwill of the audience and my film fraternity.” In a three-page open letter posted on her Instagram page, the Jawan actor slammed Dhanush for sending a legal notice demanding ₹10 crores in damages after the trailer of the documentary, titled “Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale”, was released online.

The documentary series offers an insight into Nayanthara’s remarkable life, detailing her rise to fame and the decisions she made throughout her career. She emphasized how significant the film was in shaping her professional journey. With contributions from friends and colleagues like Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, and Nagarjuna Akkineni, along with her family and husband, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, the documentary aims to reveal her dedication as an artist and her evolution as a daughter, sister, wife, and mother. It is set to premiere on Netflix.

While accepting the Best Actress award in 2016 for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, the actor humorously addressed Dhanush, saying he “absolutely hated” her performance in the film and offered an apology. She expressed gratitude to him for starting the project and acknowledged her shortcomings, stating, “Sorry Dhanush for disappointing you with my performance. I’ll probably make it better next time.”

Dhanush’s Lawyer Reacts.

Dhanush’s lawyer has responded to the situation with a statement asserting that Dhanush, as the film’s producer, is fully aware of the financial aspects of the production. The lawyer refuted claims that Dhanush did not authorize anyone to shoot behind-the-scenes footage, calling those claims baseless and demanding proof. Dhanush’s team emphasized that the behind-the-scenes footage is owned by him as the producer and has requested that the docu-series team remove the footage within 24 hours.
