A disturbing road accident from the Pune–Ahmednagar highway has raised shock and concern, after a 4-year-old girl was hit by the car of NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) MLA Dnyaneshwar Katke. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon near Borhademala in Shirur, where election campaigning is currently underway.
According to the information available, MLA Katke was travelling from Wagholi to Shirur for the municipal election campaign when the accident occurred. The child, identified as Shubhra Pandharinath Borhade, was crossing the highway near a Hyundai showroom. She stepped out from behind another vehicle and came directly in front of the MLA’s speeding black Mercedes (MH12 NX 1391).
