Pune: The two day G 20 Infrastructure Working Group Meeting in Pune kicked off today. The civic body took up massive beautification work across the city but has failed to keep the city clean and instead has put up green cover to hide the mess.

The beautification work conducted between Pune Airport to Senapati Bapat road, has put up curtains to hide unpleasant locations and painted footpaths to hide broken roads or footpaths.

When the matter came to light, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Pune has decided to expose it and show it to the citizens and foreign delegates. For next one month NCP will go live from places where the places or broken roads are hidden, informed NCP City President Prashant Jagtap in a press conference held today.

Prashant Jagtap said, “From January 17 for the next 30 days we will start a campaign to expose BJP. We accuse that the PMC Commissioner and Administrator Vikram Kumar is working on the instructions given by BJP. As it was his responsibility to show the city the way it is to the country and foreign delegates. And he supported the BJP to hide things and places behind the curtains and instead of repairing footpaths they have been painted.”

“Pune city is one of the cities in Asia continent known for fastest development. For the beautification and preparation of G-20 summit, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has allotted funds of ₹50 crores to Pune. The Municipal Corporation has a total budget of 10,000 crore, Central provided ₹50 crores for it, is like mocking Punekars,” he added.
