NCP-SP Receives 41 Applications For Pune Legislative Assembly Elections
A total of 41 candidates from eight constituencies in Pune have expressed their intent to contest in the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections under the Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) banner.
The party, led by founder Sharad Pawar and State President Jayant Patil, began accepting applications on August 28, with the initial deadline set for September 4. However, due to high interest, the deadline was extended to September 10.
According to Pune City President Prashant Jagtap, the party received applications from across all eight constituencies in Pune. The next step in the process involves interviews for the aspirants, which will be scheduled soon.
Following these interviews, the names of the candidates will be forwarded to the State President for final approval.
The general elections for the Legislative Assembly are expected to be held in October or November.
The NCP-SP is capitalizing on its strong organizational structure and the number of interested candidates to ensure a robust representation in the upcoming elections.
