The new sewage line, which is of bigger dimension, has been laid to solve the blockage issues.

Talking about the work done, former Corporator Nanda Lonkar said, “This area has been facing water logging issues for many years. Last year, we arranged a visit for the senior PMC officials to appraise them of the problem. The sewage and storm water lines were laid almost a decade ago. They had become corrosive and also were not taking the increasing load. Now with the new lines, the water accumulation in the lane and surrounding societies will stop.”

Lucas John, secretary of Nivedita Garden society said, “Every year during monsoon, our society and surrounding premises used to get flooded. With the new line, we are hoping that the water logging would become a thing
of the past.”

In the first phase, the pipeline shall be laid from Sai Dwarkamai to Anandpur Charitable Trust for which the work has started.
