New Metro Feeder Bus Service Launched Between PCMC Metro Station And Kalewadi Phata
Pune, April 22, 2026:
In a move aimed at enhancing first and last-mile connectivity for metro commuters, MahaMetro in collaboration with PMPML has launched a new metro feeder bus service between PCMC Metro Station and Kalewadi Phata.
The newly introduced ‘Metro Feeder Bus Route No. 31’ is expected to significantly ease travel for thousands of residents from Kalewadi, Rahatani, and Pimpri areas by offering faster and more affordable connectivity to the metro network.
Currently, a total of 83 feeder buses are operating across 23 routes, connecting 10 metro stations in Pune. This expansion has strengthened the city’s public transport system and improved accessibility for daily commuters.
The new route connects densely populated areas such as Kalewadi, Rahatani, Vijaynagar, Tapkir Nagar, Shrinagar, Dhangarbaba Vasti, and Jyotiba Nagar directly to the metro network. With fares ranging between ₹10 and ₹20, the service is expected to bring substantial savings for middle-class families.

The route also covers key locations including MM School, Jijamata Hospital area, and several private coaching centres, making it especially beneficial for students. With services starting as early as 6:30 am, students can conveniently reach their schools and colleges on time.

Route Details:
- Route No. 31: PCMC Metro Station to Kalewadi Phata
- Frequency: Every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes during non-peak hours
Timings:
- First bus: 6:30 am from PCMC Metro Station; 7:00 am from Kalewadi Phata
- Last bus: 9:00 pm from PCMC Metro Station; 9:30 pm from Kalewadi Phata
Fare:
- Minimum: ₹10
- Maximum: ₹20
The bus service will operate in a circular route in both directions, covering several important stops including Kundan Hotel, Gokul Hotel, Shagun Chowk, Jijamata Hospital, Lucky Bakery, Vijaynagar, Avinash Mangal Karyalaya, MM School, Tapkir Nagar, Dhangarbaba Kalewadi, Shrinagar, and Rahatani Phata.

Speaking on the initiative, MahaMetro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar stated that the feeder bus service aims to provide seamless, affordable, and efficient connectivity from commuters’ homes to metro stations and back. He added that the initiative will help reduce dependence on private vehicles, thereby easing traffic congestion and lowering pollution levels in the city.
Authorities have urged citizens to make maximum use of the feeder bus service for a more convenient and sustainable travel experience.
