Starting April 1, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has implemented a toll rate hike on significant highways in Karnataka, including the Bengaluru-Mysuru and Bengaluru-Hyderabad access-controlled routes, as well as the Hoskote-Devanahalli section of the Bengaluru Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR).

On the Bengaluru-Mysuru access-controlled highway, travellers covering the 55.63-km Bengaluru-Nidaghatta stretch will now pay ₹170 for a one-way trip and ₹255 for a round trip within 24 hours, compared to the previous rates of ₹165 and ₹250, respectively. Light commercial vehicles, light goods vehicles, and minibuses will see an increase to ₹275 for a single journey and ₹415 for a return journey, up from ₹270 and ₹405.

Trucks and buses (two axles) will face revised charges of ₹580 for a single journey and ₹870 for a return journey, up from ₹565 and ₹850. Non-commercial vehicles within 20 km of the toll plaza will experience a slight increase in the monthly pass fee, now priced at ₹340 from ₹330. Toll collection will be conducted at Kaniminike and Sheshagirihalli toll plazas.

For the Hoskote-Devanahalli section of the Bengaluru Satellite Town Ring Road, toll charges have been revised within five months of its opening. Toll rates for cars, vans, and jeeps now stand at ₹80 for a single journey, ₹120 for a return journey, and ₹2,720 for 50 journeys in a month, compared to the previous rates of ₹70, ₹105, and ₹2,375. Similar adjustments have been made for other vehicle categories, with toll collection taking place at Nalluru near Devanahalli.

On the National Highway 7 section between the AP/Karnataka border and Devanahalli, cars, jeeps, vans, and light motor vehicles will now be charged ₹115 for a single journey and ₹175 for a return journey, collected at Bagepalli.

NHAI officials emphasize that toll revision is an annual exercise, with rates adjusted in accordance with changes in the wholesale price index. This hike reflects the authority’s ongoing efforts to maintain and improve infrastructure while ensuring sustainability.
