NIBM road residents await justice; demand adequate water supply

Residents of Clover Pinnacle Ridge, Dhunjeeboy, Kubix Insignia, Palace Orchard, Sanas bungalows, Bizbay Mall are all facing acute water shortage for the past many years. These societies are completely dependent on private water tankers to meet daily their water requirements. Despite paying high taxes these residents are left with no adequate water from PMC. 

A meeting was held at Clover Pinnacle Ridge society between residents from societies of NIBM road and local Corporator Prabhag 26 Nanda Narayan Lonkar recently.

Rashid Sayyed from Clover Pinnacle Ridge said, “Our society has been suffering inadequate water supply for the past 15 years. We are spending most of our society’s maintenance funds for acquiring water from private water tanker suppliers. Our demand to the Corporator is to provide us with adequate PMC water supply.” 

Pooja Chheda from NIBM road said, “We have been completely dependent on private water tankers. If societies opposite to us have received water why can’t we get. Our demand are also for proper roads, sanitation and other basic amenities. We have been continuously writing to various departments in PMC and shall continue to do it untill we get our basic right.” 

Local Corporator Nanda Narayan Lonkar while answering to the queries raised by the residents said, “andI am aware of the water scarcity issues faced by societies on NIBM road. I have resolved issues of societies till Clover Hills. Now the societies such Clover Pinnacle Ridge, Dhunjeeboy, Hide Park, Kubix and others are remaining. These societies shall also receive PMC water supply. Work is on to resolve their water issues.” 
Prajakta Pethkar from Palace Orchard society commenting on the inadequate water supply said, “We have been the oldest society on NIBM road. For the past 25 years we have lived on assurances only. We want to see result now. Our meeting was somewhat fruitful as we could see some ray of hope while we spoke with Nanda Lonkar. But we are awaiting justice to us.”
