Anandvan Mitra Mandal thanks citizens for their contribution towards making Urban forests

Maharashtra Forest department appreciated the relentless efforts taken by the members of Anandvan Mitra Mandal for creating urban forests through citizens participation.

Giving information to Pune Pulse, a member of Anandvan Mitra Mandal said, “Rahul Patil, Deputy Conservator of Forest, Pune has assured his support that he will assist us with making 10 more urban forests like Anandvan in Pune.”

The forest department recently handed over a letter of appreciation to the team.

Anand Van Mitra Mandal (AVMM) is a “Public Charitable Trust” (Registered under Society Registration Act 1860,21 MH 1587/2015/Pune) situated in Pune, Maharashtra, with its prime activity aiming to create urban forests.

Puneites are fortunate and favored to have a place like Anandvan Urban forest which is in the city limits.

The member further said, “Anandvan Urban Forest is a 40-acre forest land. Prior to turning into an Urban forest, AnandVan was an infertile barren garbage land. With the assistance of the Maharashtra forest department, Kumar Uncle-Founder of Anandvan Mitra Mandal, entire Anandvan office bearers, citizens, and our dedicated volunteers transformed the fruitless slope into a green land and planted numerous native trees, and created many water bodies. This spot is additionally called a forest of joy.”
