NIBM Water Tank Incident : Prompt action by Kondhwa Fire Station Officials Saved Girl's Life.

Pune: A 16-year-old girl fell into a 40-feet-deep overhead water tank built by Pune Municipal Corporation in front of Dorabjee Mall on NIBM Road in Pune around 9:25 pm on December 4. The fire department responded to the incident promptly sending out a crew from Kondhwa Khurd via the control room.
As per the information, 3 sizable water tanks have been lying empty for the last five years now. The injured girl was found lying at the bottom of one of these tanks about 40 feet down. In order to facilitate the rescue effort, fire officer Kailas Shinde and firefighter Aniket Gogawle courageously entered the deep tank while using a ladder and safety belts. Their colleagues stood above while the girl was lifted by using the strings.
Upon realizing the girl’s injuries, Shinde used the control room to get a doctor and an ambulance. After the girl was fastened to a safety belt, they raised her using a police net.
The girl was successfully freed by the staff at the top of the tank, and she was taken to an ambulance. The attending doctor gave her first aid and sent her to hospital for further medical assistance.
The fire officials informed that the girl had received Injuries on her head and legs. She was a resident of Kondhwa. Her life was saved by the quick thinking and well-coordinated actions of the fire department. The entire rescue process took about sixty minutes to finish.
Among the group of officers involved in this successful rescue effort were firefighters Mohan Sanas, Ravi Bartakke, Aniket Gogawle, Santosh Mane, and Ramraj Bagal, as well as Kondhwa Khurd fire officer Kailas Shinde and driver Deepak Kachare.
