Viral Videos Spark Positive Buzz
The newly launched Vande Bharat Sleeper train is generating strong reactions online, with several viral videos offering a glimpse inside its upgraded coaches. Passengers sharing their experiences say the journey feels noticeably more premium compared to traditional long-distance trains.
Upgraded Bedding Gets Attention
One of the most talked-about changes is the redesigned bedding. Videos show berths with colourful block-print bedsheets instead of the usual plain white linen.
Passengers highlighted that the new bedding includes a bedsheet, pillow with cover, wool-rich blanket with cover, and a hand towel. Some even joked that the new design removes the “morgue-like” feel often associated with older AC coach setups.
Improved Hygiene And Food Service
Another viral clip focuses on the catering service, with a vlogger describing it as “flight-like service”.
Railway staff are seen distributing sealed meal boxes using enclosed trolleys while wearing gloves, masks, and hairnets. Many passengers noted that both hygiene standards and presentation appear significantly improved.
Route, Speed And Features
The Vande Bharat Sleeper on the Howrah–Guwahati (Kamakhya) route was inaugurated on January 17. The train is expected to reduce travel time by around 2.5 hours.
With a design speed of 180 kmph and 16 coaches, it can carry over 800 passengers across different AC classes. It is also equipped with advanced safety systems like Kavach and emergency talk-back features.
A Shift Towards Premium Rail Travel
The response online suggests that passengers are welcoming these upgrades, seeing them as a step towards more comfortable, cleaner, and modern rail travel in India.
