Pune: A private airline based in Goa is set to commence flights from Jalgaon to Pune, Goa and Hyderabad as part of UDAN-5.0 starting from February next year.
As per the information provided, Fly91 officials held a meeting with Jalgaon district collector Ayush Prasad to apprise him of the new routes. These three routes will be served by a 76-seater ATR aircraft. The introduction of air connectivity to Pune will particularly be advantageous for the residents of Jalgaon, especially students.
As per the information received, currently, 58 buses operate between the two cities daily. The airline intends to commence operations from Jalgaon in February of next year. They are currently in the process of obtaining all the necessary permissions from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and other relevant authorities, the collector added.
Presently, no commercial flights are operating from the Jalgaon airport, which is managed by the Airport Authority of India (AAI). Previously, a private airline had initiated flights from Jalgaon to Mumbai and Pune in September 2019. However, due to technical issues, the airline ceased operations in April 2022.
During the meeting, the Fly91 representatives announced that the inaugural flight on the Jalgaon-Pune route would commence in the initial week of February. Furthermore, the Jalgaon-Goa route is scheduled to commence operations by the final week of February, while the Jalgaon-Hyderabad route is expected to begin in March.
