The Pune Municipal Corporation has recently announced that if a pet dog litters in public places such as roads and footpaths, the pet owner would be fined Rs 500. The civic body’s solid waste management department informed that the first pet owner from Kothrud was fined Rs 500 when his pet was found littering in a public place.

As per the civic body’s record, only 5500 pets have obtained licenses out of 80,000 pet dogs. Now, PMC has urged the pet owners to obtain licenses both for their pet cats and dogs. This license can be obtained through the PMC website.
