Over 200 unauthorised huts removed from Railway land at Shivaji Nagar and Khadki

Pune: In a bid to make railway premises free from encroachment, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) carried out an anti-encroachment drive between Shivaji Nagar and Khadki railway station on Friday. The drive helped remove 150-200 unauthorized huts which occupied railway land worth crores of rupees.Â
The drive was conducted under the guidance of Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Assistant Security Commissioner and Railway Protection Force, Pune.
Officials from the engineering department, Government Railway Police (GRP), RPF and local police including 50 gang men and 4 JCB machines were used in this joint operation. The drive lasted for more than 8 hours.
The RPF Pune has assured that such campaigns will be carried out regularly in the future to keep the railway premises free from encroachment.
