Pune: Within the Pune Regional Division of MSEDCL, there are a total of 85,56,531 consumers, including domestic, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and other categories. Of these, 79,29,748 (92.67 per cent) have registered their mobile numbers along with their customer numbers.

These registered customers receive information regarding electricity supply, bills, and other related matters through SMS. However, there are still 6,26,783 electricity consumers who have not registered their mobile numbers with MSEDCL and are therefore unable to take advantage of this service. 

As per the information provided, MSEDCL sends SMS notifications to registered mobile numbers regarding pre-planned maintenance and repair, power supply restoration times, monthly electricity bills, meter readings, disconnection notices, and payment due dates. Unfortunately, 4,96,501 non-agricultural and 1,30,282 agricultural consumers in western Maharashtra are among the 6,26,783 who have not registered their mobile numbers. This includes 2,76,439 consumers in Pune district, 1,09,366 in Solapur, 83,662 in Sangli, 59,607 in Kolhapur, and 52,982 in Satara district. 

As per the information received, it is recommended that all electricity consumers register their mobile numbers to take advantage of this service. As of now, 79,29,748 electricity consumers in western Maharashtra have registered their mobile numbers and are receiving SMS notifications from MSEDCL.

This includes 39,04,446 (92.4 per cent) in Pune district, 9,82,289 (94.9 per cent) in Satara, 10,18,377 (90.3 per cent) in Solapur, 11,58,879 (95.1 per cent) in Kolhapur, and 8,65,757 (91.2 per cent) in Sangli district. Electricity consumers who have not yet registered their mobile numbers can do so by sending an SMS to MSEDCL’s number 9930399303 with the information “mrEG” followed by their twelve-digit customer number.
