PMC demolishes restaurants on Bhandarkar Road and Kamla Nehru Park

PUNE: The Building Construction Department of PMC has continued its efforts to combat illegal constructions of restaurants and cafes in the Shivaji Nagar area.

As per the information provided,  On Tuesday, unauthorized structures in the side and front margins of restaurants and cafes located on Bhandarkar Road and Kamala Nehru Park were dismantled, freeing an area of 3,000 square feet.

The establishments include Hotel Skol on Bhandarkar Road, as well as Bharat Bazar, Café Story Al Iran, and Café Street Bean Coffee, all of which are situated opposite Kamala Nehru Park. 

The sheds, which were constructed using bamboo, tin, and iron angles were also demolished.

Deputy Engineer Sunil Kadam reported that the action was taken under the guidance of Executive Engineer Bipin Shinde, Branch Engineer Rahul Rasale, Junior Engineer Samir Gadhai, and other 10 daily laborers were working. The police provided security during the demolition drive.
