Pune: The district election office in Pune has made the decision to modify a few more aspects of the voting procedure and expand the number of polling places for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections due to the addition of one lakh new voters.

According to a district election official, 8,175 polling places were located in the district during the previous election. As a result of the need to account for the growing voter base, the district will now have 8,213 polling places.

As per information, in anticipation of the upcoming elections, the district election office is getting ready. Pune district encompasses the cities of Pune, Baramati, Shirur, and half of the Maval Lok Sabha constituency. There can be around a maximum of 1,500 voters in each polling place.

The district election office has also decided to implement other changes, one of which is that all polling places will be only on the ground floor. The 625 polling places that were housed in the previous structure, which had a small entrance and little room, have been replaced.

If there is a line at the polling place where their name is registered, they can cast their ballot at the next one at the same location.
