Pahalgam Terror Attack: Two Tourists from Maharashtra Killed, Two Injured in Kashmir
In a tragic development, two tourists from Maharashtra lost their lives in a terror attack that took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased have been identified as Dilip Disle and Atul Mone, both visiting the region as part of a tourist group.
According to preliminary reports, the attack occurred while a group of five tourists from Pune, including three women, were exploring a valley in Pahalgam dressed in traditional Kashmiri attire and taking photographs. Armed terrorists suddenly appeared at the scene, asked the tourists for their names, and allegedly made comments about Prime Minister Modi before opening fire.
In addition to the two fatalities, two more tourists from the state were injured in the incident. Among the injured are Manik Patel from Panvel and another individual identified as S. Bhalchandra. While Patel is said to have sustained three gunshot wounds and is in critical condition, Bhalchandra’s condition is reportedly stable. The current health status of all injured individuals is being closely monitored, and treatment is ongoing.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is reported to be in direct contact with senior Jammu and Kashmir officials. He has spoken with the divisional commissioner to gather updates on the situation and the well-being of affected tourists.
