Oikyotan Bangiya Parishad To Celebrate Durga Puja in Pimple Saudagar

Since its inception in 2011, Oikyotan Bangiya Parishad has been celebrating Durga Puja at Kapse Lawns in Pimple Saudagar, an autumn festival with fervor and funfair with the motto “together we stand, together we celebrate”.  Durga Puja being one of the biggest human gatherings (we attract 25000+ crowd) is also a conglomeration of many uncharted puja rituals and traditions from across Bengal, food and culture, art and activities. This year will be Oikyotan Bangiya Parishad’s 12th Durga Puja and the theme this year is to be  “illumination”. Decorations are slated to be subtle with adornments of lights being the guiding art. Of course as always the ambience will be “Barir pujo” (a familial celebration) and the members will be showcasing their talents through several cultural programs throughout the five days of Puja starting from Panchami to Navami.

There will be performances by two renowned guest artists (Poushali and Kaushik) who are popular in Bengal and beyond. Food is an integral part of Durga Puja, there will be food stalls (10 in number) from top most Bengali restaurants dishing out delicacies like traditional Bengali platters to  typical Bengali sweets. There will be a team of 8 dhakis (drummer) who will be coming from the underprivileged areas of West Bengal. They will be showcasing centuries old traditions of “dhak” performances and jamming session with local drummer groups. As this puja is open to all, Punekars are urged to come to our pandal at Kapse Lawns and enjoy the festivities. The Durga Puja is from 20th October to 24th Oct, 2023.
