To ease the congestion caused on the main Kondhwa road, the residents of the area fought a long battle with the Pune Municipal Corporation. Though the road was acquired by the Pune Municipal Corporation a few years ago, the actual work started only in the year 2021.

The road connecting Parge Nagar to Kondhwa Budruk will now be open for public from March 26, 2022. This is a 200 meters long and 20 meter wide road which will be a boon for commuters to surpass the traffic on main Kondhwa road.

While giving details to Pune Pulse, local Corporator Prabhag 26 Nanda Lonkar said, “The battle started from getting the road acquired from Pune Municipal Corporation. Though it was acquired earlier, it was not as per the new norms of PMC. I fought consistently with the PMC to get hold of the space and expedited the process too.”

“It was in January 2022 that the foundation was laid by Member of Parliament Shirur Constituency Dr Amol Kolhe after which the work expedited. Today, I feel happy that the new road will take away the congestion of main Kondhwa road and will provide easy access to the residents of the local area,” added Lonkar.
