Pashan, a suburb of Pune, experienced the chilliest weather of the season with a temperature plummeting to 13 degrees Celsius, surpassing Lonavala’s 17.5°C on Friday. Shivajinagar also found itself cooler than the renowned hill station, registering a minimum temperature of 14.4°C.

The sudden drop in temperature brought a welcome respite to Puneites who had been enduring sweltering heat despite the official onset of winter. The India Meteorological Department attributes this cooling trend to clear skies and low moisture in the air. They anticipate this weather pattern to persist for about a month, with intermittent breaks.

Throughout November, Pune witnessed erratic rainfall, and post-Diwali, there was a notable decline in temperatures, with the Haveli region recording 12.7°C.

Anupam Kashyapi, the head of IMD’s weather forecasting division, informed news agency that Pashan recorded the lowest temperature in the city at 13°C on November 17, and this trend is expected to continue until the morning of November 18.
