Pune : The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has extended the deadline to submit the PT-3 form to November 30. As per information, almost 80,000 residential owners rushed to fill the PT–3 forms attaching the necessary paperwork to get a 40% concession on property tax.

It is worthy to note that the deadline for submitting PT-3 forms was extended by 15 days, from November 15 to November 30, according to a PMC official, due to the ongoing increase in demand. For self-occupied residential properties, the PT-3 form must be filed to qualify for a 40% tax concession.

PMC is still getting queries regarding tax concessions even after 80,000 forms have been submitted suggesting that more people will be submitting PT-3 forms until November 30.

In 2019, the state audit department objected and the PMC withdrew the 40% discount. Severe public outcry in the meantime forced the civic body to rush to the state government. The state government then allowed the PMC to grant a 40% concession of the property tax for self-occupied residential properties in April this year. As a result, the 10% annual rent concession was reinstated, along with the 40% annual taxable value concession and 15% annual rent concession.

Citizens were urged by the PMC to provide all necessary documentation to demonstrate their eligibility for the scheme’s benefits. Residents objected, claiming that they were being unduly disturbed because PMC had neglected to confirm the eligibility of the beneficiaries. However, the city administration is still looking for all the information necessary to confirm their eligibility.
