Patanjali Halts Sale of 14 Products Following License Suspension by Uttarakhand Authorities, Check List
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd has announced the immediate suspension of the sale of 14 of its products following the revocation of its manufacturing licenses by the Uttarakhand licensing authority. This decision comes in response to repeated violations of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954.
On Tuesday, Patanjali informed the Supreme Court of its directive to its 5,606 franchise stores to withdraw these products from sale and to remove all advertisements for these products across media platforms. The matter is scheduled for a hearing before a bench comprising Justices Hima Kohli and Sandeep Mehta on July 30.
The petition, filed by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), alleges that Patanjali conducted a negative campaign against the Covid vaccination effort and contemporary medical practices.
The revoked manufacturing licenses affect the following 14 products:
- Swasari Gold
- Swasari Vati
- Bronchom
- Swasari Pravahi
- Swasari Avaleh
- MuktaVati Extra Power
- Lipidom
- Bp Grit
- Madhugrit
- MadhunashiniVati Extra Power
- Livamrit Advance
- Livogrit
- Eyegrit Gold
- Patanjali Drishti Eye Drop
This suspension represents a significant setback for Patanjali, highlighting the company’s ongoing regulatory challenges.
