Pimpri-Chinchwad, April 1, 2026: The Tax Assessment and Collection Department of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has once again recorded a major milestone by collecting over ₹961 crore in property tax during the financial year 2025–26.

Marking its second consecutive year of crossing the ₹950 crore mark, the civic body reported that out of approximately 7.32 lakh registered properties in the city, as many as 6,31,615 property owners paid their taxes. Officials noted that last year’s collection stood at ₹966 crore, while this year’s marginal dip was attributed to the department’s three-month engagement in municipal election duties.

The tax department undertook several initiatives to boost recovery, including property seizures of defaulters, disconnection of water supply, public disclosure of major defaulters in newspapers, awareness campaigns through hoardings and social media, and door-to-door follow-ups. Both online and offline payment facilities, along with tax rebate schemes, were also made available to encourage timely payments.

**Abhay Scheme Sees Strong Response**

Under the Abhay Scheme, introduced to provide relief to defaulters, 70,238 property owners availed benefits between March 1 and March 31, 2026. The scheme resulted in a collection of ₹202.17 crore within 31 days, while offering a total rebate of ₹55.47 crore to taxpayers.

Among the 18 administrative zones, Wakad recorded the highest collection at ₹117.78 crore, followed by Thergaon (₹98.59 crore), Chikhli (₹88.65 crore), and Kiwale (₹65.34 crore), among others.
