PCMC Clears Over 45,000 Sq Ft Of Illegal Constructions In Three-Day Anti-Encroachment Drive
Pimpri-Chinchwad, April 18, 2026: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has intensified its crackdown on illegal constructions, removing over 45,000 square feet of encroachments during a three-day drive conducted between April 15 and April 17.
The civic body carried out coordinated action across multiple ward offices, demolishing a total of 46 unauthorized structures, including temporary sheds and permanent constructions. Officials stated that the operation was aimed at ensuring public safety and promoting planned urban development.
In the B ward, action was taken in Chinchwad on April 17, where nine illegal structures were demolished, clearing approximately 21,798 square feet of encroached land.

Similarly, in the K ward, operations were conducted in Bhosari and along the Pune-Nashik Highway, where several unauthorized sheds were removed over two days. Additional action in the area resulted in the clearance of illegal RCC constructions, freeing up more space.
The E ward team carried out demolition in Moshi-Dudulgaon, removing an unauthorized structure spread across around 650 square feet.
In the F ward, authorities targeted illegal commercial constructions in Chikhli’s Prime Park and Shelar Vasti areas, demolishing eight structures covering approximately 3,660 square feet.
Meanwhile, extensive action in the G ward covered multiple localities including Rahatani and nearby colonies, where encroachments on roads and drainage lines were cleared over three consecutive days, freeing thousands of square feet of land.

The drive was conducted under the direction of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi and guided by Additional Commissioner Trupti Sandbhor. Officials, enforcement teams, police personnel, and civic workers participated in the operation, using heavy machinery such as JCB breakers and tractors.
PCMC has warned that such drives will continue, and strict action will be taken against those involved in illegal construction activities.
