PCMC Commissioner takes stock of infrastructure preparedness ahead of Wari

Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner Shekhar Singh gave instructions to the officials to ensure that there will be no shortcomings in the service and facilities provided for the upcoming Palkhi ceremony of Sant Shrestha Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj.

On this occasion Pradeep Jambhale Patil additional commissioner, Jitendra Wagh, City Engineer Makarand Nikam, Joint City Engineer Shrikant Sawane, Babasaheb Galbale, Manoj Sethia, Pramod Ombhase, Sanjay Khabde, Dyaneshwar Jundhare Executive Engineer Vijaykumar Kale, Ajay Suryavanshi, Thomas Naronha, Dilip Dhumal, Vasudev Mandhare, Bapu Gaikwad and others were present.

Singh also directed the concerned officials to make adequate facilities for drinking water, toilets, stay at Varkari Niwas and along the route. He also directed the officials to complete the pothole filling work on Palkhi Marg as well as Palkhi stay.

As per information, Palkhi Marg starts from Bhakti Shakti in Nigdi where a reception hall is set up by the Municipal Corporation. So, Singh took stock of the arrangements being made there. The palanquin of Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj resides in the Vitthal temple at Akurdi. Thus, Singh also inspected the place and schools where Dindis will reside at Abul Kalam Azad Urdu Secondary School, Vasantdada Patil Primary School in Akurdi.
