PCMC Demolishes Illegal Structures Spread Across 1,858 Sq. Metres In Thergaon
Pimpri, June 3, 2026: As part of the ongoing road widening project between Lemon Tree Hotel and Morya Banquet Hall in Thergaon, under Ward No. 24 of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), action was taken today against unauthorized constructions obstructing the project.
The demolition drive was carried out by the Encroachment Removal Department of the PCMC’s ‘G’ Regional Office. During the operation, unauthorized structures at 30 locations were removed. A total of approximately 1,858.25 square metres of encroached area was cleared.
The action was conducted under the orders of PCMC Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi, under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Tripti Sandbhor, and under the supervision of ‘G’ Regional Officer Mukesh Kolap.
The operation involved Deputy Engineers Sunil Belgaonkar and Jaywant Rokade, along with 14 beat inspectors from the municipal corporation’s enforcement teams representing the ‘B’, ‘D’, and ‘G’ regional offices.
The demolition drive was successfully carried out with the support of 40 MSF personnel, 1 Police Sub-Inspector, 9 police personnel, 10 contractual labourers, 7 municipal workers and 5 JCB machines.
“Road widening is essential to make the city’s transportation system safer, smoother, and more efficient. Therefore, unauthorized constructions obstructing such projects are being removed in accordance with the rules. Such actions are necessary for the larger public interest and the planned development of the city. We appeal to citizens to cooperate with the administration. The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation remains committed to strengthening the city’s roads, infrastructure, and transportation network.” said, Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi, Commissioner, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
