Pune: Pimpri-Chinchwad city is currently growing rapidly. The number of industrial, commercial shops etc in the city is increasing day by day. It is imperative to have fire prevention facilities in industries and businesses for the safety of citizens. Therefore, a fire prevention survey of commercial, industrial, educational, institutional, medical properties in the city was started by the fire department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).

Pradip Jambhale-Patil, Additional Commissioner, PCMC said, “Survey of commercial properties for citizen safety and in industrial and commercial properties are increasing rapidly in Pimpri-Chinchwad city. In this, various types of products are taken in factories, shops, etc. It is necessary to have various permits, which will be important for the safety of citizens and commercial properties. Citizens, commercial property owners should cooperate and play their role for the safety of citizens.”

As per further information shared by the PCMC fire department, on Monday, October 30, more than 250 women savings groups assigned for fire prevention survey were trained in the survey at Ramkrishna More Theatre. On this occasion, the officers of all the sub-fire and main fire stations of the fire department, women of the Women’s Economic Development Corporation, technical engineers etc were present.

Commercial Property Fire Prevention Survey will gather information about the number of commercial properties in the city and the permits related to the property. Based on the information obtained from the survey, important improvements will be made by the fire department regarding property safety.

Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has appealed to the municipal officials, employees, women representatives of women self-help groups to cooperate in the survey by providing various licenses, registration certificates etc.

Commercial properties in Pimpri-Chinchwad city are to be surveyed for security reasons. Information about availability of hazardous and combustible permanent fire extinguishing system in commercial properties, inside and outside of properties through ‘Mobile Application’ and information about photos, and various licenses will be collected. More than 250 efficient women have been recruited through Mahila Economic Development Corporation to collect information. The women appointed for the survey will get employment and this initiative will help in their economic empowerment.

Information about the below-mentioned licenses will be given in the survey:

1) Food and drug license

2) Municipal stock and sale license

3) Municipal business license

4) Electricity Bill

5) No Objection Certificate of the fire department related to the construction of the building

6) Business-related annual No Objection Certificate of the fire department

7) Fire safety certificate regarding school and hospital building
