PCMC forms 32 teams for 32 wards to tackle encroachment & cleanliness issues

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation held a meeting at Auto Cluster, Chinchwad under the leadership of Rajesh Patil, commissioner, Usha Dhore, Mayor alongwith additional commissioner Vikas Dhakne, city engineer Rajan Patil, Makrand Nikam, Shirkant Savane, Satish Ingale, Chandrakant Indalkar, Anna Bodade, Rajesh Agale, Sitaram Bahure, Sonam Deshmukh, Sucheta Pansare, Vikaykumar Thorat, Sanjay Bhosale, inspectors from anti encroachment cell, sky sign inspector, beat inspectors and others to discuss about making the city clean.

Rajesh Patil, commissioner, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation in the meeting with the officials and PCMC staff said that to make Pimpri Chinchwad a clean and liveable city, the roads must be cleaned, footpaths must be available exclusively for pedestrians as well as the city must remain hoarding free while illegal construction must be razed. This will definitely bring Pimpri Chinchwad in the most cleanest and liveable city’s index in the top position.

PCMC has formed 32 teams for 32 wards wherein these teams will tackle with the encroachments regarding hoardings, flexes, illegal construction, etc. put up by various agencies without any proper permission from the sky sign department and building construction department. Separate arrangement of vehicles shall be made for these teams which will work in two shifts -7.30 am to 2.30 pm and 2.30 pm to 9.30 pm. These teams will constantly patrol the area assigned to them and take action against those defacing the city.

The whole exercise to bring these teams is to make Pimpri Chinchwad a truly liveable city. These teams will rehabilitate the hawkers into a hawkers zone further clearing off footpaths which are being occupied several unauthorised hawkers.

Vikas Dhakne, while addressing the meeting said that in the next two months, both the officials as well as PCMC Staff will jointly carry out this acitivity.
