The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation PCMC has launched a new initiative to combat the Measles in children by launching a vaccine van.
The van will be used to administer measles vaccines to children between the ages of 9 months and 5 years in 70 slum areas within the corporation limits.

The move is aimed at protecting the vulnerable population and slowing the spread of the Measles. The vaccine van will be staffed by trained medical professionals and will be equipped with the necessary medical equipment to safely administer the vaccines.

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation is encouraging all eligible children and their parents to take advantage of this opportunity to get Measles Shots to protect their childrens from measles.

“This is for the citizens, including migrant workers who live in congested areas who haven’t given the measles vaccine to their childrens yet. We got the idea from the  ‘vaccine on wheels’ programme launched for COVID vaccines. We want more vaccine vans like this and the proposal has also been sent to PCMC head Shekhar Singh,”  Pavan Salve, additional health officer PCMC.
