On Tuesday ( January 9), the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) removed several roadside encroachments from Wakad Chowk to Jagtap Dairy Chowk in Wakad.

As per information shared by Ankush Jadhav, Ward Officer, PCMC ‘D’ Ward, under ‘D’ Zonal Office, encroachment removal action was taken through ‘D’ Zonal Office where roadside encroachments from Bhujbal Chowk (Madhuban Hotel) to Jagtap Dairy Chowk in Ward No. 25 and 26 of Wakad were razed.

In the said action, a total of 1,49,580 sq. ft. of unauthorized brick construction and paper sheds in the area have been demolished.

The said action was done as per the orders of the PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, PCMC Additional Commissioner Pradip Jamble Patil, under the guidance of PCMC City Engineer Makarand Nikam & under the supervision of Ward Officer of PCMC ‘D’ Ward Ankush Jadhav.

During the entire operation, Executive Engineer Abasaheb Dhavale, Deputy Engineer Kobal, Junior Engineer Garje, Office Superintendent Arun Kumar Sonkusare, Beat Inspector, Amol Shinde, Junior Engineer Vaibhav Vitkari, 28 MSF jawans, 22 police officers were present.

20 workers, 2 cranes, 1 tempo, and 2 gas cutters were used to execute the encroachment removal operation.
