Pune: On behalf of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), arrangements have been made for immersion ghats on the banks of Pavana, Indrayani, and Mula rivers in Pimpri-Chinchwad city. Also, immersion ghats and artificial reservoirs have been constructed at lakes. 

As per information, the CCTV system along with the lighting system, Nirman Kund as well as the required amount of manpower has been deployed there.

Ganesh Festival has begun on Tuesday. On this occasion, processions are taken out enthusiastically to bring the deity home. Also, some household Ganesh idols will be immersed after one and a half days i.e. on Wednesday September 20. For this, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has repaired and repainted all the Immersion (Visarjan) ghats.

Adequate arrangements for cleanliness and lighting have been made. CCTV cameras have been installed for security. Nirmalya collection facility has been arranged at all ghats.

The number of processions that leave the city for immersion is large. For this, the Municipal Corporation has provided a lot of facilities for the devotees at all immersion ghats in the city.

PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh has appealed to take care of the environment while celebrating Ganeshotsav. He has appealed that a small Ganesha idol should be immersed in an artificial tank. Eco friendly Bappa should be immersed in clean water at home.

He, along with municipal officials inspected the Visarjan Ghats on Monday ( September 18).

Shekhar Singh has also instructed the following things:

Directional boards should be installed on the ghats. Places of Nirmalya Collection on Visarjan Ghats should be fixed and boards should be placed there. Lifeguards should be assigned and coordinated with the central control room. Fire-fighting system, disaster management systems should be kept operational. Drinking water should be provided for citizens.

Instructions were given to the concerned authorities to beautify the immersion ghats.
