PCMC Smart city officer awarded as star performer

The Smart city officials are laying a foundation for the growth and development of the city, but what remains is the fact that collection data of the entire city and its operations isn’t a cakewalk.

Nilkanth Poman, who is marked as a Star City Data Officer for a month, is being hailed for his outstanding efforts since past two years in dedicatedly collecting data of the city.

According to the information provided by Poman and the PCMC, City Data Officers have been running the data work on the ground level and helping the Smart Cities Mission successfully deliver various data initiatives, providing Data assets and Data Stories for the Open Data Portal, supporting completion of assessments such as Ease of Living, Municipal Performance Index, Data Maturity Assessment, ClimateSmart Cities Assessment etc. And since it is important to acknowledge the efforts of CDO’s through a reward and recognition mechanism to bring out the best in them, a title of a “Star CDO of the Month” is being proposed to acknowledge their efforts on monthly basis.

Talking with Nilkanth Poman, a smart city official, said, “I want to thank PCMC commissioner Shravan Hardikar, who through his outstanding leadership gave me freedom and support to carry out my operation. I also want to thank my officers who have helped me to a larger extent.”

There are various categories outlined by the smart city department in deciding Star City Data Officer for a month. The evaluation is based on the following remarks.

1. No of Datasets Published
2. No of Datasets Published through API
3. No of Data Stories Published
4. No of Datasets downloaded
5. Quality of Published Datasets (Overall): The cumulative sum of the rating given by the users to be calculated based on the
   feedback received in terms of star rating of each parameter i.e. completeness of data, relevance of data and accuracy of data.
6. Datasets updated: The already uploaded datasets needs to be updated after certain frequency. The score will be calculated basis the datasets supposed to be updated within a month.
