PCMC to take stern action against abandoned vehicles on footpaths

Unused, abandoned vehicles lying on the footpath shall face stern action by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation soon. The civic body has asked the citizens to remove these vehicles lying unattended on roads, open plots, footpaths, sidewalks, under the flyovers within 7 days after getting notice. 
The initiative is taken under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2022 and the civic body aims at getting star rating. 


If such vehicles are not removed by the vehicle owners within the given time, the encroachment squad from each regional office of PCMC will take action to pick up the vehicles.
The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Patil has directed the municipal corporation encroachment department to take action against such old and unauthorized parked two-wheeler, three wheelers and four -wheelers. The encroachment department will pick the vehicles on the roads within its limits of the 8 regional offices.  

The BRTS cell has entered into an agreement with a private company and ordered to provide hydraulic cranes and trucks for lifting unattended vehicles. It will be necessary to record all the details of such vehicles in the register by taking photographs. This record should be preserved permanently.
“PCMC will immediately start the process of removing closed, unattended and defective vehicles parked on the land owned by corporation. A monthly report of such action should be submitted to the city engineer along with the encroachment department, ” said Rajesh Patil, PCMC commissioner.
