PCMC : Waste to Wonder – Unique way to use waste

Pimple Nilakh: A “Waste to Wonder” model using Reduce, Reuse and Recycle has been installed using waste materials in Gnyanjyoti Savitribai Phule Park of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation at Pimple Nilakh.

The official inauguration of the park after installing these models was held today at the hands of Additional Commissioner Jitendra Wagh.

The creative structures installed in the park are made using waste and creativity, such as ‘canons’ are made from old electricity poles, people performing Yogasanas using old jeans, and old toys are used to make attractive ‘trophies’.

Speaking about the unique initiative taken by PCMC Additional Commissioner Jitendra Wagh said, “It is necessary to recycle the reusable items used in daily life and this will help in conservation of the limited natural resources, also recycling of plastic or non-degradable materials or items will also maintain the balance of the environment.”

He added, “This initiative implemented by the municipal corporation’s garden department is commendable and citizens should follow the three principles, ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ by creatively using the waste items in their homes.”
