Pimpri, February 11, 2025: To curb the spread of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has initiated strict measures. So far, action has been taken against 24 unauthorized private RO plants and 27 water ATMs, leading to their closure, informed Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh in a press conference today.  

A total of 5,905 water samples, including those from six wells across the city, have been tested. The inspection drive aims to ensure clean drinking water and prevent the spread of waterborne diseases. Additional Commissioner Chandrakant Indalkar, Deputy Commissioner Anna Bodde, Education Department Assistant Commissioner Vijaykumar Thorat, and Special Officer Kiran Gaikwad were also present at the press conference.  

PCMC continues to test water samples from various locations and inspect private RO plants and water ATMs. Immediate action is being taken against unauthorized and contaminated water supply sources.
