Pimpri Chinchwad fire officers save man trapped in river near Wakad crematorium

Pune: In a heroic rescue, the fire department officers of Pimpri Chinchwad saved a person who fell into the river from the bridge over the Wakad Crematorium. As per information, police constable Prashant Dhale informed the main fire station that a person had fallen from the bridge over the Wakad Crematorium river.

As soon as the information was received, a total of three fire engines; one from the Rahatani sub fire station and two from the main fire station were immediately dispatched to the spot. The person has been identified as Raja Bhosale who fell from the bridge into the riverbed while attending to nature’s call and fell on the riverbed and got stuck in the bushes and garbage on the riverbank.

The fire department officials descended from the bridge into the river bed and prepared ropes and cloth stretchers (in the form of bags) for the person who was stuck in the river bed. They safely pulled the person out of the river bed from a height of approximately twenty feet and the person was sent to the hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

Wakad police team & a total of 20 fire department personnel were present on the spot.
