Pimpri, March 18, 2026: In a strict move to curb environmental pollution and maintain public cleanliness, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has imposed fines on individuals and businesses violating single-use plastic regulations. The city’s Health Department team collected a total of ₹21,500 in penalties during operations in Ward 17 under the B Regional Office.

The crackdown was conducted under the guidance of PCMC officials, including Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi, Additional Commissioner Vijaykumar Khorate, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Pradeep Thenge, and Assistant Commissioner Kiran More. The campaign targeted the use of banned plastics, littering, and public spitting, with penalties ranging from ₹500 to ₹5,000 across nine cases.

The team, led by Assistant Health Officer Sudhir Waghmare and Health Inspector Rupali Salve, emphasized that such enforcement will continue to ensure the city remains clean, green, and environmentally friendly. Citizens are urged to avoid single-use plastics and strictly follow cleanliness rules.
