Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation To Develop 11.3 km Of ‘Missing Links’ To Ease Traffic Congestion
Pune News: PCMC Plans AI Integration In Governance Under ‘Vision@50’ Initiative
PIMPRI-CHINCHWAD: A total of 25 traffic congestion points have been identified in the city, prompting various measures to resolve the issue. As part of this initiative, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has allocated ₹1 crore for immediate traffic solutions. Additionally, 11.3 km of alternative roads (missing links) will be developed at a cost of ₹122 crore.
The PCMC budget, presented on Friday, includes a provision of ₹809 crore for the development of 34 roads spanning 48.94 km under the city’s development plan. The budget also covers infrastructure projects such as water supply, sanitation, urban forestry, and transportation improvements.
Key Budget Allocations
- ₹1,150 crore for construction projects
- ₹300 crore for water supply
- ₹100 crore for land acquisition
- ₹160 crore for environmental initiatives
- ₹90 crore for sports facilities
- ₹83 crore for women’s welfare programs
PCMC aims to revamp old projects and launch new initiatives like CBSE-affiliated schools, climbing walls for mountaineering, and wastewater treatment plants.
