The Chikhali Police have registered the case under relevant sections of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act of 2013 and the Maharashtra Police Act of 1951. The incident underscores a growing trend where individuals upload videos showcasing vandalism and fear-mongering by brandishing weapons. Officials from the PCPC are intensifying efforts to curb such activities that influence many through social media.

The constable discovered one such video on Instagram, showing three individuals on a two-wheeler, with one waving a pistol threateningly. This video, intended to spread fear, led to the identification of the accused by tracing the two-wheeler’s registration number. A minor accomplice was detained, which led to the arrest of Kunal Sathe. Yash Kamble, seen with the pistol, and two others recorded the video on separate two-wheelers. A case has been registered against all five individuals, with two suspects handed over to Chikhali Police Station by the Anti-Extortion Squad.
