The Pimpri Chinchwad Police cracked down on a car owner, Sanjay Gujar, known as ‘Gold Man’, for tinting his Audi SUV’s windows. Despite fines, locals are embracing flashy car modifications.

The Sangvi Traffic Department recently targeted Gujar’s gold-plated Audi, reigniting debates on extravagant car modifications. Pimpri-Chinchwad’s wide roads often host unruly traffic, despite decades of municipal and police efforts. To tackle this, Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey and Additional Commissioner Vasant Pardeshi urged strict enforcement during a recent meeting. As a result, 406 vehicles faced fines totalling 4.37 lakh rupees in a single day.

Sanjay Gujar and his friend own several gold-plated luxury cars, attracting Bollywood stars and social media attention. However, their penchant for flashy modifications has landed them in trouble before, even facing fines in Kashmir.

According to regulations, any alteration to a vehicle must have RTO approval. Failure to comply can lead to hefty fines or even confiscation. Traffic police have the authority to issue fines on the spot for unauthorized modifications, including colour changes.

The situation underscores the need for both traffic improvements and citizen discipline. Authorities emphasize the importance of adhering to regulations to ensure road safety and order in the city.

In essence, while Pimpri-Chinchwad’s car enthusiasts continue to push boundaries with extravagant modifications, law enforcement remains vigilant in maintaining order on the roads.
